Over this past weekend a colleague of mine posed an interesting question to me. He asked me, "What song defines you as a person or if you only were allowed to listen to one more song before you died which song would that be."
Immediately after he asked the question my head began going over songs and their lyrics. I was amazed that it would actually take me more than a few minutes to select just one song. To answer his question I would like to break down the criteria into a few categories: Inspirational (something that touches on your people beliefs), Love, Religious, and Random (the one that just relates to me).
My favorite artist is Elvis Presley and most who know me would figure that I would choose an Elvis song for every category, however, this will not be the case. So, first up Inspirational. As I looked over my Itunes music list I came upon a group called Savage Garden and I was not too sure as to why they were even on my Itunes list --until I recalled previous girl friends who loved them. As I look over some of their songs I played a song called Affirmation. This song and its lyrics coincide with a lot of things I believe in.
Love: (Yes, I know shocking to most that I would even dare to choose a love song!) I'm going to have to cheat here a bit and select a few more songs. The first being I Knew I Love You by Savage Garden, second They Remind Me Too Much of You, next Memories by Elvis Presley, and last Anything That's Part of You by Elvis Presley.
Religious: Religious music is probably my favorite type of music. Simply because when religious songs are sung by individuals these individuals seem to put forth their best effort and emotional masterpieces sometimes come about. Once again, I'm cheating and choosing more than one song. My favorites are: How Great Though Art, Bridge Over Troubled Water, You'll Never Walk Alone, and Where Could I Go But To the Lord.
Random: Creed: My Sacrifice and Higher.
I'm different. I know.
