Hopefully most people have been privileged to have more than a handful of good teachers in their life. We may not have all liked these teacher's teaching style but if we learned something, we benefited and they did their job. So we must give them praise as well. However, this post is going to be geared towards those teachers that made a difference in people's lives. These teachers had a unique quality of being able to relate information and life to use in a way that others could not. These teachers taught us what's needed to conquer the biggest game of them all, life. For this, I salute and commend them!
Over the course of my life I have been privileged to have three teachers that stood above the rest. Their names were William Vrba, Al Boyer, and Dr. Dulcelina Stahl. These teachers not only taught me their respective classes/courses but how to be a outstanding person. These three teachers had a gift for recognizing genuine people and giving them your respect. A perfect example of this was with William Vrba. I was 17, in high school, and taken astronomy for a semester with Mr. Vrba. I went through the class and earned a B+ but when my report card came, the grade was a C+. The next day I went and saw Mr. Vrba and explained to him the situation. He politely apologized, made a joke about how his wife was yelling at him all night and asked me what grade I wanted. Now, I could have chosen any grade I wanted but he knew I would choose the grade I earned, a B+. I remember thinking to myself as the day went on, he must have known what grade I would have chose. Back then, I thought that was "cool" of him. Now I realize, he was a stand up guy and one of the great teachers.
Since I have learned so much from these three teachers, I figured I would relay some of the very beneficial information I received. So, here we go!
