With recent waves of winter storms and blizzards my thoughts naturally shifted to the ongoing questions regarding global warming--and weather or not humans have influenced the rising current documented temperatures?
So have or have not humans influenced global warming? Well, it depends on who you talk to. If you speak with Al Gore he admittedly believes that people are at fault.
Al Gore recently posted John Kerry's comments about global warming on his blog and it states, "I want you to go out there and start knocking on doors and telling people this has to happen," Kerry said during a conference hosted by labor, farming, military veteran and environmental groups. "You know if the Tea Party folks can go out there and get angry because they think their taxes are too high, for God's sake, a lot of citizens ought to get angry about the fact that they're being killed and our planet is being injured by what's happening on a daily basis by the way we provide our power and our fuel and the old practices we have. That's something worth getting angry about." Clearly both Gore and Kerry believe people are at fault because they want people to make changes in their lives. Al Gore has also shown many correlation charts between human's carbon output and the rising temperatures. Maybe global warming is a conspiracy (doubtful) but let us face the reality that when global warming is mentioned it is presumably caused by humans. The question that I have and never seen answered is, "How much carbon comes from the earth herself and how much is man made?" Is there even a way to test this?
I once had a college professor who worked for the EPA as well. One day I asked him about global warming and I spent a good hour after class hearing what this brilliant man had to say. He said to me,"That the planet is warming but it is not because of people. Over the history of the Earth she goes through cooling and warming cycles and this is just one of those cycles." My professor also went on to explain that the earth always wobbled on its axis and it has been shown over the years that it may move a half degree or a degree too much. When this happens warming or cooling happens. Here's my questions to scientists, "Data shows the Moon is moving away from the earth at a more rapid pace today than in the past. Could this be effecting our atmosphere or the Earth's axis? Is it possible the Sun is going through a period where sunspots and radiation are more prevalent that in decades past? Is it possible that it is a combination of these questions?" Obviously I am not a scientist but rather just your average gentleman who has a few normal questions.
I personally think the Earth is just going through a phase. I do not believe people are the key cause of global warming. That being said I do believe we as humans contribute to global warming--minimally. I guess only time will tell the truth of the matter. Here is a video of Eric Bolling debating global warming. I chose this video because my beliefs are very similar to Mr. Bollings.
What else is there to say but goodnight and goodnight to you Mrs. Amore, where ever you are.
