In typical woman fashion, I apparently needed more help than I thought. I know this by the purchases made. These purchases included such things as bow ties, jeans, a jacket, a pair of sunglasses, shoes, and shirts. All that's left that we are in disagreement on is facial hair. I tend to like my facial hair a bit longer and messy but she thinks that I need to keep it not as long and shaped better. I'll put up a poll question in a related post later to see what everyone thinks.
When it comes to fashion I have been a huge fan of Cary Grant. Nobody has been able to ever wear a suit like he did. Federico Fellini once said of Cary Grant, "In the Beverly Hill Hotel, there is a fittingly larger than life photograph of Cary Grant behind a glass display case. He's wearing a chalk-stripe suit and a shirt that is as white and dazzling as his smile. Underneath the photograph is a tuxedo, an unfurled bow tie, cuff links, and a pair of carefully placed polished shoes. It's an advertisement for Amir, the menswear showroom in the corridor of swanky shops on the lower level of the hotel, but it's more than just an advertisement--its an homage, less a display case than a kind of altar. A placard in the case bears the inscription "This is a tribute to my friend Mr. Cary Grant who had style. His style was simply understated elegance.""
Also, I wanted to share some fashion tips by my buddy Dhani Jones who not only is stylish but his bow tie creations help various charities. Definitely a win win situation!
